Are You Enjoying God Today?

From "The Boy Who Cried Abba," by Brennan Manning.

"At that moment, forgiven and free, redeemed from the corrosive power of mistrust, Willie Juan glowed like a child just given the sun, his joy filling his eyes and face. "Um, uh, want to split my fajita with me?" he offered humbly.

Willie Juan ran over and snatched up his backpack. Digging for the fajita, he plopped down cross-legged on the floor next to the Medicine Man. He split the fajita carefully, handing half to the Medicine Man, who ate with great gusto. In fact, the Medicine Man attacked the food with such single-minded relish, licking his fingers and smacking his lips, that Willie Juan watched in amazement.

Aware of his rapt attention, the Medicine Man smiled and said, "When you get to heaven, Little Friend, Abba will not ask you how many prayers you said or how many souls you saved. He'll ask, 'Did you enjoy the fajita?' He wants you to live with passion, in the beauty of the moment, accepting and enjoying his gifts.."

Great! I am very good at enjoying food passionately. Maybe not fajitas so much, but I'll definitley tell Him about how wonderful some of the cake was!
