The Rule of the Lamb

The lion became a lamb.
The blood shed was his own.
Love poured from his wounds,
And covered all the world.

The lion, the king of beasts.
The lamb, so mild and meek.

The king cast off his crown.
The servant took up his towel.
From looking down at those bowed at his feet,
He looked up at those whose feet he washed.

The lion, the king of beasts.
The lamb, so mild and meek.

The judge became the judged.
The stone table crashed in two.
The deeper magic overcame the deep,
Now mercy rules in judgment's place.
